Behavior-based safety (BBS) is a scientifically proven method for reducing accidents in the workplace. Implementing the BBS approach to safety will make a critical impact on the actions of your employees and managers. This introductory course will help you develop the foundation for a safer work culture. We will discuss important questions, such as:
1)What are the crucial factors of a Behavior-based safety program?
2)What are the likely results from this safety process?
3)What are the practical steps that we can take to ensure safety?
4)What role does leadership have in this process?
Dr. D.J. Moran is the senior vice-president of Quality Safety Edge, a recognized leader in the use of evidence-based applications to improve safety and performance in the workplace. Dr. D.J. received his Ph.D. in behavioral psychology from Hofstra University in 1998, and put himself through school by working as an electrician and commercial roofer. He spent the last 20 years of his career using only proven techniques for improving people’s health and well-being. His book, Building Safety Commitment, focuses on strongly supported scientific research to help change behavior in a positive direction. Dr. D.J. has witnessed extraordinary positive change in behavior when leaders and front-line employees make value-based commitments to safety.
Dr. Moran has served elected positions for the Association for Contextual Behavioral Sciences and other national and state organizations, including serving as president of the Behavior Analysis Society of Illinois. His reputation and publication record received noticed from producers of several television networks (Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet), and he has made repeat appearances on national broadcasts related to psychology. Improving safety is his cardinal focus, and Dr. Moran is eager to disseminate BBS’s influential and transformative technology to industry and organizations.
