Ruud Bosman
As executive vice president, Ruud H. Bosman is responsible for corporate engineering, claims, research, underwriting and marketing functions, as well as international operations, at FM Global. He is based in the company’s corporate offices in Johnston, R.I., USA.
Bosman, who was appointed to his current position in 1991, has dedicated his entire career to serving FM Global, having worked for the company for the past 32 years. In addition to his current role, he has held a number of other senior level positions, including chairman and managing director of the company’s international operations; senior vice president, division manager; and vice president and manager of the company’s New York operations.
Bosman holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Delft, The Netherlands.
John Doyle
John Q. Doyle
President and Chief Executive Officer, U.S. Property and Casualty, AIU Holdings, Inc.
John Q. Doyle is President and Chief Executive Officer, U.S. Property and Casualty, AIU Holdings, Inc. Mr. Doyle is responsible for AIU Holdings, Inc.’s commercial property and casualty businesses, as well as the personal lines businesses including 21st Century and The Private Client Group in the United States and Canada.
Prior to the launch of AIU Holdings, Inc., Mr. Doyle most recently served as Senior Vice President of American International Group, Executive Vice President of AIG Property Casualty Group, and President and Chief Executive Officer of AIG Commercial Insurance.
Mr. Doyle joined National Union, an AIG company in 1986, and held senior executive positions in management and professional liability, excess casualty, workers’ compensation, and field management within AIG’s domestic commercial property and casualty companies. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of National Union, President and Chief Executive Officer of American Home Assurance Company, and Executive Vice President of AIG’s Domestic Brokerage Group Field Operations. In 2006, Mr. Doyle was elected AIG Senior Vice President, Domestic General Insurance.
Mr. Doyle is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, and currently serves as a member of the University at Buffalo School of Management Dean’s Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Board of the New York Police and Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund.
Mike Foley
Mike Foley serves as chief executive officer of Zurich's North America Commercial business division and is also a member of Zurich Financial Service's Group Executive Committee.
Mr. Foley became CEO effective Jan. 1, 2008. His previous position was North America Commercial Chief Operating Officer, where he was responsible for all operating matters relating to NAC's businesses and functions as well as driving strategic initiatives. He also had responsibility for Corporate Operations, Business Engineering and Group IT/North America.
Prior to joining Zurich in 2006, Mr. Foley served as the leader of McKinsey & Company’s North American Property & Casualty insurance practice. He joined McKinsey in 1996 and was named a principal in 2001.
Mr. Foley holds a master's degree from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics from Fairfield University.
Sam Friedman
Sam Friedman is Editor-In-Chief of the Property & Casualty edition of "National Underwriter," in charge of day-to-day editorial operations at the newsweekly magazine, as well as NU's online daily news service. He also comments on industry developments both in his weekly opinion column in the magazine, as well as his blog, "A View From the Press Box," at www.property-casualty.com. He is a frequent industry speaker-both at live events and on webinars.
